The University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Institute of music education, is offering a provisional position, beginning with October 1st, 2019, and lasting until September 30th, 2022, for a
for Music Education – Voice and Instrument
based on § 26 of the collective agreement for university employees, in the form of a part-time contractual position with the extent of employment being 50%. The minimum monthly salary for this position is at present 1.432,25 € brutto (14 payments annually). If need be, and on the basis of the collective agreement instructions, this amount could be increased through the crediting of specific prior experience.
The particular duties that are involved in this position include
Participation in the research activities, teaching and administrative duties of the department of instrumental and vocal pedagogy
Coordination and scientific participation in the transfer of knowledge project “Netzwerk IGP”
Participation and support in organizing symposia, conferences and further education courses of the department of instrumental and voice pedagogy
Independent research activities in the field of instrumental and vocal pedagogy and music psychology, specifically in the context of a PhD project at the scholarly doctoral school of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz
Independent teaching of courses and holding exams
Participation in organizational and administrative duties, as well as evaluation activities
Supervision of students
Participation in writing and editing publications
General Employment Requirements
Completion of the Master’s Degree (Diploma) in an appropriate professional study area such as music pedagogy/music psychology, preferably in instrumental and vocal pedagogy
Special Employment Requirements
Experience in scientific work as well as in the organizational field
High level of competence in research methodology
Very good German and English language skills (spoken and written)
Very good computer software skills (MS Office, incl. Excel and Publisher) as well as experience with selected web service technologies
Highly developed problemsolving skills and willingness to work in teams
