Summer Lunch and Learn Series

The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University is excited to collaborate with academic leadership of peer conservatories to present a Lunch and Learn series on Zoom every Tuesday at 12:00 noon EDT between June 2 and July 28.

This spring semester’s abrupt shift to online education has provided real opportunities for learning and innovation, particularly for those of us working in higher education for the performing arts. The Lunch and Learn series will spotlight teaching and innovative pedagogy in remote instruction. Each session will include subject matter experts, instructional designers, and others to provide insights and make recommendations for remote educational delivery.
Topics will include:
  • Reimagining the Music Library in a Time of Crisis (June 2)
  • Technology to Teach Keyboard Remotely (June 9)
  • Instructional Design Basics: Migrating an In-Person Course to a Remote Course (June 16)
  • Teaching Ear Training in a Remote Format (June 23)
  • English as a Second Language Instruction in the time of COVID-19 (June 30)
  • Recording and Electronic Tools for Musicians (July 7)
  • Music and Health in the time of COVID-19 (July 14)
  • Chamber Music and Instrumental Ensembles in a Remote Learning Environment (July 21)
