Psychology and Music – Interdisciplinary Encounters

The first international conference Psychology and Music – Interdisciplinary Encounters, will be held from 24 – 26th October 2019 at the University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia
Conference organizers are: Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade, Institute of Psychology, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade and Psychology of Music Section, Serbian Psychological Society.

Keynote speakers: 
  • John Sloboda, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London - Contemporary audiences for classical music: what research can tell us about them and their motivations, and how professional musicians can better connect to them;
  • Renee Timmers, Department of Music, University of Sheffield - Expression and communication in ensemble performance;
  • Jane Ginsborg, Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester - Memory for music: Research and practice for performers;
  • Richard Parncutt, Centre for Systematic Musicology, University of Graz - The obstetric dilemma, the mother schema, and musical-religious ritual.
