Pop and Jazz Working Group is looking for contributors and contact persons for thematic pre-conference sessions

The Pop and Jazz Working Group (PJP WG) has always been listening to its community and each year the conference programme is prepared carefully in order to satisfy the needs and expectations of the participants. Following the several requests coming from the Pop and Jazz community, the Working Group is planning to introduce a different, broader and more various format of the pre-conference sessions by including four thematic sessions.

  • Traditional/Folk/ World Music meeting
  • Students meeting
The contact person will collaborate closely with the PJP WG and WG coordinator and will assist with preparing the pre-conference meeting. The ideal candidate should have a solid expertise in the genre area, be an active musician and a representative of the AEC community.

Each pre-conference session should last at least a half day. Student profile can represent either one of the domains above mentioned or any other music field.

The main task and responsibilities will include (in close collaboration with the WG and WG coordinator):
  • Drafting and proposing a session’s programme (propose speakers, themes, format)
  • leading or actively participating in the meeting
  • searching for input from local artists
  • attend at least one Working Group meeting (online)
In addition, the student profile’s task will be to reach to the international students in the country/city where the conference is organised. The Student contact person will stay in close contact with the AEC Student Working Group.

Please send a short motivation letter and your ideas and examples of such session before September 15, 2020 to paulinagut@aec-music.eu. PJP WG will select new contact persons by the end of September 2020.

We are looking forward to collaborating with you and listening to your ideas!
