Conferences on Entrepreneurship at Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía

In 2019, AEC member Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía held several meetings and conferences related to their Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership Programme. Today they want to share with the AEC community some useful highlights from these events: interesting conferences about entrepreneurship for music students are available below.

On the kick-off meeting of the Entrepreneurship Programme, tenor, comedian and speaker Zapata Tenor held a conference about Entrepreneurship and innovation in classical music - How to hit high C in chest. With a close and fun language, Zapata Tenor encourages students to think for themselves and to use their creativity by applying it to reach new audiences.

At the same event, Detta Danford – flutist, composer and teacher at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama – delivered an inspiring speech to encourage students to do collaborative work in vulnerable context with the title Entrepreneurship and innovation in classical music – Working together.​ Detta Danford explains her experience working in disadvantaged contexts and provides some of the keys necessary to achieve positive impacts in these environments.



Former President of the New England Conservatory Tony Woodcock spoke about the skills that the students need for managing their professional careers, during the meeting organised by the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía to gather all the Spanish Higher Music Education Institutions to reflect together on the conservatoires curricula​. What skills beyond music are necessary to include on the conservatoires’ curricula?
