Royal Northern College of Music

Creative musical leadership is essential to the success of any world-leading conservatoire. The RNCM’s performance programme is the public manifestation of our world-leading credentials and in appointing a new Director of Performance, we are seeking a visionary leader who is able to drive our artistic vision forward in line with the needs of the exceptional young musicians who study with us. Of course, the role demands significant experience of strategic leadership in the music industry and a track record of imaginative programming. But more than this, we need a strategic thinker who can place the experience of our students at the heart of our programming strategy, whilst understanding our different audience profiles and how these might be further developed.

The RNCM is seen as a key player in the UK’s music industry and has forged strong links with many of the most significant artists and ensembles across Europe and beyond. Our Director of Performance will nurture and lead the future development of these relationships, ensuring that the College builds on its international profile in the years to come.

If you are excited by the prospect of a unique opportunity to help develop some of the greatest musical talent the world has to offer within a vibrant artistic environment, we want to hear from you.
